Free Notary Service

Free service for you from MLJ Hardin County District Library

The MLJ Hardin County District Library has two notaries on staff M-F 9-5 to help serve your notarial needs. Our service is free to all, not just library patrons. We do accept walk-ins if time permits. We prefer you call and arrange a time to come in as our notaries also perform other duties for the library and may not have time when you come in. Please call 419.673.2278 to inquire as to when a notary is available.

Please Be Prepared for Your Notary Visit

  • Bring a valid, government-issued photo ID with you when you visit.
  • Have your documents filled out EXCEPT for the signature.
  • Do not sign the document prior to coming, we cannot help you if your document is signed.
  • Laws vary by state and some documents may require witnesses in addition to the notarization. In some cases, a notary public might not be legally allowed to also, simultaneously, act as a signature witness. Check with us to inquire as to the availability of signature witnesses, if such is required on your document.
